Sharpening an Image Stroke to Make The Edges Smooth

I use photoshop cs3. I've got some stroke layers added to my image, and I can't get them sharp enough. I've done everything I know how to do with the various sharp filters (which may not be enough, as I'm no expert at photoshop), and no matter how much I do it, the edges always stay looking a little fuzzy or else get worse than that.

Is there a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

You can try the unsharp mask since you can set it as you want there if you haven't tried that. Also, if you're making the strokes, maybe you have a setting to feather on somewhere?

If you can redo the stroke, you can force it to be the way you want it by using the Path tab and creating a work path and setting the feather to 0 and the stroke size you want and selecting the pencil tool instead of the brush.
