newbie question

I just coded an html file with notepad. im wondering how i can host this on a domain. can someone whos more experienced with this topic help me out a little?:)

Step 1: Go to http://godaddy.com and get a domain purchased

Step 2: Either use the above company or another one to get hosting established for your domain.

Step 3: Once domain and hosting is established, upload your notepad file to your hosts web server, type in your domain, and you're good.

You'd have to type your domain and the /filename.html too if you've not named it "index.html". :)

You need to place the html file on the internet. You need to have FTP access to a hosting environment. All you have to do is upload the file and access it through a browser. Are you familiar with FTP and/or do you need help setting up hosting?
