Hi All,

I am working with Photoshop 7 and Image Ready.

I have a Photoshop file containing prices, so that each price is in its own layer.

I want to automate the process of saving these optimised for web, witht he name of the saved file being based on the layer name.

According to Adobe's on-line documentation, I should be able to do that, but I can not find the specific instructions on how to set it up.

Anyone got any suggestions?

they are called actions ..... all you have to do is go to the actions window and select make new set then select make new action.. then hit the record button do what ever you want to do to the image... then hit the stop button any image you want to ap.ly the same features to all you have to do is now push play with that action on the picture you are working with..

if you need more help let me know nathan@grailviper.com

Thanks Nathan,

I tried it with actions, but Istill couldn't automate the process of reading the layer name and making it the file name each time the action saved the image.

I had a look at the actions file... is there a editor that allows me to get in and write an action myself? If so, I could automate the process by creating a script that did it for me.

Yes you can make your own actions but its not going to come up with a name for you .. might want to check into batch renaming
