Textarea scroll to bottom

I have a script that adds text to a textarea. When the text gets longer than the textarea is it add scroll bars. This is fine except that the textarea is still at the top of the text. All the new text is at the bottom. (much like an IM screen dialog)

Is there a way to get the textarea to scroll to the bottom after it is updated?
