I'm curious if others have seen the same things I have between the two versions of Firefox (2.0.0.20 and 3.0.4/3.0.5).
At home, I have FF3, but at work, I prefer FF2. The main reason, i guess, would be the 'search by title tag' when typing in URLs. I maintain 10 different websites and the title tags all very similar for each site, so it makes it more cumbersome when typing in specific pages.
I'm come across this at least two or three times where it's caused a fairly serious problem with the layout. Firefox 2 and 3 do not render layout the same.
case-and-point: I received the link to a survey that was built by a third party. In Firefox3 (as well as IE7), the page displays fine, but in Firefox2, the 'float: right' on the image is causing #content to hang up. I was able to remedy this by adding 'clear: right' to #content. (see attached)
Is Firefox 2.0.0.20 really that "out of date" or "non-compliant" that these issues make it not a viable browser?
