First off this forum rocks. From what I have read of the messages there is some good stuff happening.

Dreamweaver has always had my vote as far as the best web deveopment program. However I chose Front Page so my customers could purchase a cheap and easy program to maintain their sites after I built them. Then along came Contribute by Macromedia. A cheap program my customer can use to upload pics and text without altering the program. Now do I upgrade to Front Page 2003 or go with Dreamweaver MX 2004 (or maybe the whole meal-deal with Studio MX 2004 with Flash Pro)?

Any suggestions?

And all but one WYSIWYG produce pages that only work on certain browsers which may get your clients introuble with accessibility laws.

Charles, the problem isn't what's best for Chevi54, it's what's best for Chevi54's clients when Chevi54 has left. Yes, they do need to know the inner workings of the code, but if you are picking between the two products, Dreamweaver is hands down the better product.

I personally prefer dreamweaver. I use it all the time, but I use it for code not for its wysiwyg features. I did not hear Chevi54 say he was going to be using its wysiwyg features either.

Thanks everyone.

I'm glad everyone are pretty much in agreement. Dreamweaver has the capabilities to use style sheets, w3 standards and good coding. I will likely use a combination of coding manually and wysiwyg programing.

I'm glad there are people on this forum with knowledge about programing. I'll certainly be back to read and place other things on the forum.
