Hi all.

I'm interested in having my font-size, line-height and letter-spacing appear the same in as many browsers as possible.

I'm familiar with the first two attributes and have successfully set my css to depict 11px font-size and 13px line-height.

letter-spacing, however, is throwing me a curve.

When I set the letter spacing, it appears differently in Opera (and perhaps IE) vs. Firefox. These aren't the only two browsers I'm concerned about.

Has anyone out there already ventured through the various popular browsers and conquered their differences in letter-spacing?

If so, what is the best universal work around?

If the user doesn't have the font you define or has a user css, then all your work is for nothing.

Pixel perfect is not possible.

Okay but assuming they do have Verdana and they aren't using their own css, is there a way to get equal letter-spacing?

Does anyone know which browsers display this attribute differently from firefox and what causes it?

There are like a million different browsers out there. And in the time of this typing it's become one million and one. Pages are supposed to look different on different browsers and control freaks should stick to DTP. If it helps, I too like to open up the letter spacing a little, especially at small sizes, but only with certain fonts. But I only really use it with DTP.
