Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and full of admiration for those who use the internet to assist others who are not specialists in the same field.
I have studied ways to make our website popular yet don't wish to go down the route of "any link will do" to increase traffic but the more I read and because certain other sites in my field come above ours in rankings it seems like to do the same means throwing the towel in and using any links to do so.
Not really what I want to do and wanted to obtain relevant links, preferrably one way as I hear these can achieve a better ranking but reciprocal links of relevancy would also be acceptable.
My question is do I throw the towel in or are there better methods that will retain and improve our rank?
I would also very much appreciate a critique of the website from the experts here.
Just to add, all I know about SEO and designing our websites, has been learned from sites such as this and I never hired anyone to undertake this for me so go easy on me guys.

Sorry. The menu tab should be black (for example) after user pressed it. It indicates to user where is he/she situated in the site.

Here is one method (http://brainstormsandraves.com/archives/2006/09/27/navigation/) for implementing it.

I analyzed your site with Classification Engine www.ClassEngine.com
Although its textual content is quite limited it appeared to be consistent and it falls into the following categories:
kitchen countertops
kitchen remodeling
home siding
home & garden
deck construction
For your site they can be used as keywords for ads in Google, Yahoo, etc
