I have a video in a .mov format that simply won't upload to youtube

it's is .mov, and I even tried exporting it to 24fps to make it lighter which reduced it to less than 500Mb. But it just looks like it's uploading forever, I never get an error message, however, it just never completes. I have tried leaving my computer on overnight while it's "uploading" and that's not working either.

When I downloaded your .mov from the link above, it was 4.125Mb, 4 second long, black screen. Problem may be this (from YouTube):
Solve a Problem: Failed (empty .mov file)
This error message is only related to QuickTime movies. It occurs when a movie is saved from the QuickTime Player and the "Save as a reference movie" radio button is selected. This creates a small .mov file that points to the full-length video on the hard drive. When you upload this smaller .mov, it doesn't contain actual video content, and can't be converted by our system.

To ensure that your video converts properly, make sure to select the "Save as a self-contained movie" radio button before saving your video from QuickTime.
If you do ever want to reduce the file size of a video, I would not recommend changing the frame rate but rather reduce the bitrate. The appropriate bitrate depends on the screen dimensions and desired quality.
Before uploading, double check the actual video file by playing it back on your local machine first.
