Feel free to make any comments, suggestions, etc. Thanks :-) LeeU 02-24-2009, 04:20 PM So it's just a set of links to other sites? andydude44 02-25-2009, 12:03 AM @LeeU, I read your comment and had to laugh to myself... isn't that what most webpages are? If it weren't for links we wouldn't get very far:) J/k. It's more than just links. Tursee let's you search multiple sites easier and faster. Type search keywords in the textbox once and click through the search sites in the menu until you find what you are looking for. I appreciate the post! No, actually most Web pages are not just a bunch of links. Most of them have content and may contain links. The links are secondary. andydude44 02-25-2009, 02:47 PM No, actually most Web pages are not just a bunch of links. Most of them have content and may contain links. The links are secondary. The question was rhetorical, but thanks for responding. Of course most sites have content, however, depending on its purpose it could simply be something like a directory or some kind of start page. Tursee would fall more under the latter category. There are many similar "all in one" search pages, but I built Tursee with the intention of being cleaner and more streamlined. aj_nsc 02-25-2009, 03:02 PM Sorry, I think the concept, in it's current form and implementation, won't work. For one thing, frames went out, like, a decade ago, especially ones where the scrollbars/margins are visible so your page actually LOOKS like a frameset. Secondly, you're Tursee search engine, is just a bunch of search results powered by Google. (are you sure that this would in no way violate the terms and conditions of a google custom search, by the way?) The only thing your site has going for it is a neat looking logo. The rest, my friend, is useless. andydude44 02-26-2009, 09:14 AM aj_nsc, 1) I know what you mean about frames, however, to my knowledge there is no other way to accomplish what I have done without them (I'm still looking into it but have yet to find another solution). The whole idea is to keep the Tursee menu on the page while allowing the user to view websites so they are just one-click away from a different search. About the visible margin, that is intentional; IMO, it looks better to separate the menu from the main website being viewed with it. 2) No it's not against Google's terms (at least from what I understood when I read the TOS). That's kind of the idea behind Custom search; it allows you to customize Google search within your own site. Glad you at least liked the logo:) Thanks for the feedback! xjessie007 02-28-2009, 01:52 PM I am not sure what is the business model behind this web site. Why would anyone go to your site instead of directly to the search engine? __________________ 36 tips & tricks on How to make money with AdSense (http://www.maxi-pedia.com/make+money+with+adsense) andydude44 02-28-2009, 10:39 PM xjessie007, There are a few reasons, the main is probably convenience. Depending on what I am searching for, I don't always find the answer on just one website. For example, if I am looking something hard to find, it might take a few searches on a few different search sites before I find it. Tursee is a quick way to jump between those sites helping me find what I am looking for faster. With Tursee, you type once and click between sites until you find what you are looking for. Going directly to each search site would obviously take more time and typing. andr105 03-02-2009, 10:58 AM What is the sebse of your site. I think only to redirect user to other famous sites. I think it's not useful. MichaelF10 03-02-2009, 11:40 AM It's the same thing as bookmarking the websites themselves. Your not offering anything innovative or original. In my honest opinion you need to rethink the concept of this site, and the direction you wish to take it to truly be successful. Best of luck! ~Mike webdeveloper.com
