Hi all, I am setting up a site that might have some high traffic for s short period of time, but am on a crappy hosting deal with 1GB transfer per month.

Just wondering if it is possible / practical to host all the images and large files for the site elsewhere, and just have the html / css on the server with a 1GB limit.

If so, does anyone have any recommendations? would photobucket or tinypic or something like that do the trick? any suggestions for reliable image hosting?

thanks in advance

ImageShack (http://imageshack.us/) has worked fine for anything I've ever hosted there. I just noticed you can host PDF's, too. You have to have your files under 1.53 MB, however.

For other files, maybe you could try Zymic (http://www.zymic.com/). However, they say they are a web host (not a file host). So...

Just something to consider..

If you are running a site with lots of traffic and the traffic is global (India, USA, etc), you might want to consider placing your pictures so that their are closest to where most of your traffic comes from. Just my two cents.
