password for online database

Normally you can just set a password for a database by opening it exclusive and going to to tools-security

My problem is that Access wont let me do this with the database i have on my web server which i only use to dump data to from a form.

The message i get is 'that access is unable to open this data access page' when i try to open the database with 'open exclusive'

can anyone help?

i don't understand how you are using an access database for online use in html

you need to use a server side language like .asp or .php
