I am conducting a little experiment, resulting from my post here (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?p=986438).
If you were born before 1980, please vote on how far back you can remember. I want to compare this poll with the poll for people born after 1980.

I only remember events, not my age at the time.
My first memory was from shortly before my 2nd year so I can't use your poll.

Have you been told about that event since? Often, what we "remember" is what we've been told, not what we've experienced. The psychologist's name whom this happen to escapes me at the moment, but if anyone can remember whose nanny lied about a robbery that never happened, I'd be grateful.
When I told my parents about that memory they were quite stunned I could remember that. It was nothing big, so there was no reason for them ever to tell me. I'm pretty sure it was not a fake memory.

I have a vague recollection of my first walking steps, but then nothing until about 4 years old when I went to kindergarten.
Just as well you're not asking what I had for breakfast this morning - wouldn't have a clue :):p
