Website development question

where people can browse though recipes, post thier own, and have a section with articles and forums. I am not very experienced with websites but i have some CS friends who make them all the time and i learn fast. I am wondering what type of development this will take, how long, how complicated would the database be for this? All information related to developing a site like this would be greatly appricated! thanks

Honestly, there are many different ways to approach such a website. Anything from premade scripts (like maybe a CMS or something similar) to a customized script. So, it honestly depends on what would work best for you.
