I'm creating a newsletter for a small company by posting the newsletter.htm up at their website. Or I may create the website in a simple program like Word. (I'm not sure what is standard for creating a newsletter (linking to online page or uploading a file)). Anyway, I guess that is question number one. What is the standard way to do it? And more importantly, how can I hide the attachments so that they will not be visible when someone opens the e-mail. All of the images on newsletters that come through "spam" have hidden attachments, but when I direct the user to the newsletter page on the website I see the attachments in hotmail. By the way, I will not be creating spam; the newsletters will be sent to those who request info from a small company that offers counseling services. Thank you!

dont 'hide' attachments. Just make it in html format and host all of the images. You cannot hide attachments anyway.

thanks, but I was looking for a more detailed description.

how do people normally create and send newsletters? Do they create and host a webpage that is a newsletter? Then do they send that page and fix it so that it automatically pops up in the e-mail? etc? What are the basic 5 to 10 steps?

I appreciate it!

Kelly

1) get access to an smtp server, this could be your internet service providers server.
2) Either setup a form on a site using a server side language which will allow you to access a data base of people to email to (the can signup for the list via form) or configure outlook.
3) Then in the body of the email type html and make sure the email format is html
