I think the consensus is to use which ever you prefer (unless you work for a company that demands use of one or the other, for consistency). Just don't use both of them on the same site, then it gets real confusing on links. I use .htm cause I'm lazy and it's one less letter. Also I use Dreamweaver, and .htm is the default extension in that. webdeveloper.com
