kaspersky installation problem

I have P III 256 MB RAM PC running windows xp professional sp2. I wanted to install kaspersky Internet security 2009. But while installing it the PC just restarts. The restarting of the machine happens when after, the whole kaspersky modules are installed, and the kaspersky itself tries to start the utilities. Please help me out.

Do you have the latest version of Kaspersky?
Was the existing AV removed and firewall(s) disabled?

Kaspersky is quite a heavy app, your system is not really fast enough.
