I have had a custom MP3 designed by a radio person, that is approx 4748KB in size, that I would like to add to my web site. I know this is WAY to large to add. Is there a way I can compress this to a useable size or is there another method out there that I can convert this MP3 to a manegable size?

Any help is much appreciated!

Could you offer it as a download rather then background music? There's no easy way...

Thanks --I have been researching all options this morning and have seen where this (download) might be my best option. I have taken over the upkeep on my web site and am very new at doing different tasks. I have to research and get as much info as possible, everytime I do something new.

More questions: How difficult is it to add the downlaod option? Would it still be time consuming to the viewer to download this option?

BTW--glad I found this site--xtremely helpful!

Download time would depend on connection speed. Broadband wouldn't notice it downloading (a few minutes) whereas dialup probably wouldn't bother downloading.

You'll need to consider your bandwidth - say you have 10GB/month, if lots of people download your file you may exceed your bandwidth limit.

Or have you already considered this?

This is something I have not considered--being new at this. The insight you have provided adds more to the puzzle. It really sounds like using this MP3 is not something that is feasable. I take a lot of pride in my pages downloading quickly and do not want to interupt that, by adding something that really does not do much for the page. I guess I will have to enjoy the MP3 myself-:(

Thanks soccer! Based on my research this morning--I am seeing the same answer you gave. I was hoping there was some sort of cyber majic /guru out there that had a solution to this issue.

Will just move on and go in a different direction.
