Hey everyone! I need some help. I am not good with computers at all and am having a promblem with my computer ( as usual). Actually it's with access to certain sites on the internet. I know for a fact it has something to do with Java Script. I can't get into certain sites b/c "java script" needs to be enabled. I think I have it enabled though, b/c I've been to "advanced" on my Internet Options and it appears to be enabled, but nothing happens. For instance, I cannot login to accounts etc. or print off the internet. What's wrong! Help me, please!

Thanks,
Jeterbabepr

Can you show us a few websites where this happens? Then we can see whether it's javascript. Sounds more like a virus, but I don't know of any current with those symptoms.

This thread belongs in the General section, so I'll move it there.

Hi, thanks for replying. Well, some of the websites include Wachovia, Sprint, yahoo (I cannot delete my e-mail), and generally other sites that have links that I could click on. I cannot go through the links. Also, for some reason my printer won't print anything from the internet, only stuff on my programs. I don't know if this is part of the problem but I might as well tell you. And lastly, I cannot play games online, well good ones at least :) Thank you!

When you say you can't print anything, do you mean by choosing print off the file menu? Or by clicking print buttons?

here's what I would do:

Check current version of virus definitions and run virus scan.
Clear my cookies, delete internet files, and make sure Javascript is enabled.
Perform a windows update

When my computer starts acting up, I perform these steps and 95% of the time it solves the problem.

Thanks for all the advice you guys. I'll try that when I get back to my computer, but to answer Dave's question, I can't print offline when I press the print button on the toolbar and when I go to print in the File menu. So, I have no clue what's going on!

In that case I'd agree with the virus scan. That print button isn't affected by javascript.
