Non standard font to show on web page

Am currently designing new site and would like to use a non standard font. But when I preview in a browser on a different computer that does not have specified font installed the font Specified does not appear, a standard font has replaced it. Is there a way to use a non standard font? Possibly by loading the font directly to server? I do not want to change the font to an image. Has anyone ever tried to do something like this?

There's a couple of ways. Microsofts way is WEFT - if you try a froum search you should get the best links, because it's quite tricky as I remember.
