I am trying to understand how links work in regards to going from one URL {A} to Another {B} that contains a 'saved' username and password in Fire Fox.

If I go to {B} using the bookmarks on Fire Fox, then the saved username and password are shown and all I have to do is click on login. Works nice.

If I go to {B} using a link within a Blog then the saved username and password are NOT shown and I have to re-enter them to login. A royal pain.

I would like to create a link in the Blog so that when it goes to {B} the saved username and password are shown.

The links Are EXACTLY the same

1. http://www.woodlandstar.net/Mirkwood/ Book mark

2. http://www.woodlandstar.net/Mirkwood/ link in blog

Question: Why does the saved user name and password disappear ? How can it be corrected?

Thank you for any help in understanding this.

The username and password auto-populating is probably just a function of the web browser (IE, Firefox, etc). I think browsers will only auto-populate fields if the url of the page being accessed is the same as previous visits. It is possible the link from your blog is fine, but that the web server on the other end is re-writing or adding something to the url. Try this: 1) use your bookmark and visit the page. Write down the url in the address bar (top of the browser window). 2) use the link in your blog. Write down the url in the address bar. Compare. If they are different, then you've found your problem.
