Hi,

I've seen a few sites where free JavaScript calculators are available to the public at no charge. I have seen a calculator similar to the one I'm looking for here:

http://www.nhsouth.com/crafts/workbench/ss.htm

I wrote to the owner asking if he'd allow me to place it on my site as well, giving him full credit of course. He declined, which I understand.

Essentially this calculator is for converting measurements from one model train scale to another. I run a Z scale model train website where this would be useful to readers. Unfortunately I'm not familar with the mechanics of JavaScript and I'm swamped between real work and my web site at the moment.

Has anyone seen a free JS calculator like this?

Thanks,
John

If I look at that site then I cannot write you a version of it. But if you explain more clearly what you want then perhaps I can help. I'll need to know exactly what you want to convert, all the formulae and what server side languare you will be using so that the thing will also work for the 13% of users who do not use JavaScript.

Hi,

Rather then try to explain it, I've just drawn a version of it in Illustrator and placed it on my web site. Next to the calculator are the descriptions of the individual elements:

What do you think?
