simple question

one of those days for me..

I finally have my front page for my website am now linking the page together through the menus available on the front page. Am using the method of highlighting the text and simply pointing to the file where I won't the link to go. My question is do I point it to the index.html file in that folder. I have created various folders such as photography and have added index.html files as well as photography.html. So do I link to index.html ?

/folderName/You shouldn't need, not should you use, the index.html part but you could if you really wanted to.
