I am looking for feedback on my idea in general, and what I can do to improove it:
http://www.BidOutHosting.com
The idea is this - webmasters post there hosting requirements, and then hosting providers can come and place bids (in the form of monthly amounts) on that project. The webmaster can then select the host they feel is best suited for the job.
What do you think of the idea? Would you use it? What would make the site better?
Thanks in advance!

Humm, I think most giant hosts would be too arrogant for this sort of a thing. Most of the big hosts tend to be whores about money and time, they have so much cash that they can stomp on one or two clients. But it seems like a nice idea in theory. The real proof will be in a fw months to see who shows up. Major hosts have a lot of clients so they might just ignore a bargain hunter and be greedy. This might be good for getting the smaller or local hosts who need buisiness though. When you say webmaster are you talking about a professional one who hosts several different sites, or one who works for a company and only does their site but does it full time?

By 'webmaster' I mean the everyday Joe who is looking to host his website. I suppose (and it has been..) the service could be used to locate reseller hosting accounts if that was what you were looking to do..
Basically a 'webmaster' would be anyone who needed to host website(s) but is having trouble pricing out hosts.
As far as the larger hosts go, I am not hoping they come and post on the small projects, but rather turn to me to advertise there product since I will have the correctly targeted audience :)

Not a bad idea if you can make it fly. Are you covering your butt in terms of liability? In other words, have you clearly stated that you are only a middle-man, and have no responsibility for what happens between the two parties involved? I only looked at one request for hosting, but there was a reply there offering hosting for $1.65/mo. If it sounds too good to be true... Know what I mean? You don't want somebody coming back to you saying, "I used your site to find a reliable, honest hosting service, and I got screwed. Now you're gonna pay for my misfortune."
Just my 2cts.
