Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : CMS for an existing site?

I built an HTML site in Dreamweaver using slices from a Fireworks design. The site is up but my friend needs to be able to edit it easier than using ftp. Can I add a CMS on the back end or do I need to start over?

My friend has always updated his template site via the site studio in his IXWebhosting Cpanel. If my new site is live and he tries to modify text, the text is not added to the new site but changes apply in the old template version and that version defaults to the live version.

I am looking for a CMS solution (hopefully a free one) and if it has addons like a calendar and photo gallery, that would be great (dreamweaver's photo gallery sucks).

Thanks
