Tablets -- help!

i just got my tablet from UPS and i am very irritated. i am mainly going to be using the tablet for artistic purposes... but i am having trouble drawing straight lines!!!! any tips ?

What software are you using? I'm guessing on one of the tools - like a freehand one or something, you'll be able to press it once to start a line, move the pen to where you want it to end, and press again to stop.

Which Tablet did you decide to go for?

I went ahead and got the Aiptek 8000U. Im trying out a bunch of different programs... Photoshop 7, paintshop pro 7, macromedia fireworks, and macromedia freehand. Freehand is awesome because after you draw the line you can adjust it at different points... but the lines come out too jagged and dark.

DaveSW is exactly right. It's a user issue, not your tablet (no offense). Check the tutorials on Freehand. I don't have it available to me at the moment, so I can't give you the step-by-step, but it is exactly as DaveSW said. There is a straight-line tool, if I remember correctly.
