What is meant by content rich websites ? Which websites can be classified as content rich ?

When there is a lot of content on a page its content rich, I can understand that. But what amount of content makes website a content rich ? Does the content being displayed makes website content rich or if the website connects to different links or pulls data from database, is that content rich ?

If I check the website of newspaper, there is lot of content and if I check google, there is very less content. If I check bank website, there is moderate amount of content. So which one of these can be classified as content rich ?

The term content rich websites denotes a website having enough content to give its visitors detailed and clear insight about the topics or issues a site deals with. So its meaning changes in case of newspaper, bank or google landing pages or domain pages content.

This answer gives some idea, but does not provide clear picture or clear confusion.

If a website deals with some minor tiopic and provides lot of details about the topic and another website geals with lot of topics but just gives cursory ideas about the topics. Second website has overall more content than the one dealing with one topic. Still the first website is content rich and second one not ?

So, which websites are not content rich ? What do you call websites which are not content rich (abstract websiteor something like that) ? Whats the example of websites which are not rich in content ?

Bank website has fewer content than a newspaper website, still are they both content rich ?

Pls explain the the content rich term in more details.

The term content rich website depends on the topic, relativity and keywords it is dealing in. So in the given situation (by you) a site dealing with minor topics giving detailed info about the topics will be considered content rich for the job it is made and in the second case a site with wider spectrum of topics will also be considered content rich as it is made for covering wider range of topics with briefing of all the non significant but necessary to be mentioned topics.

Overall main thing is that the site content should just fill all the content requirements of the site. A blank page or ill defined topics in a site will put it in the category of ill defined and lack of content site.
