Hello,
Its with a lot of expectation and hope that I'm posting this thread. This problem is plaguing me since last two weeks and I'm going crazy.

My brand new machine hangs while booting. Here's what happens in sequence:

1)I switch on the main power
2)I switch on my UPS
3)I switch on my Power Button
4)Power LED(Blue) turns on.
5)HDD LED turns on for .3 secs and then goes off
6)Monitor turns from Active Power Mode to Standby Mode.
7)All the Cabinet fans and SMPS,CPU and GPU fans are running fine.
8)I press the power button for 3 seconds.
9)Voila!Machine now boots fine!!!!I can log into both XP and Vista

Last week I updated my BIOS with the latest file and after that, till yesterday, there were no issues. Now the problem has started again.

A few more observations:
#1 BIOS does not go to the POST state. No ASUS logo flashes.
#2 All the Cabinet Fans+CPU fans+GPU fans turn on and run properly.
#3 HDD LED glows only for 1 second and then dies.
#4 Since the last time I flashed my BIOS(I flashed it on June 26th)I hear no beep sounds even when the machine boots normally. Not a single beep sound.
#5 I believe my system has quite adequate ventilation.I checked from time to time earlier using Speedfan.Neither the HDD nor the CPU cores ever crossed 60 degrees C even after intense gaming. There are five 120mm Cabinet fans(two I bought separately).

Please someone help me I m going crazy.I may add that after the machine boots everything runs fine.I can even play Crysis and other games for hours.

My config:C2D E7300 @2.67 GHz | ASUS P5Q-E | Palit Radeon HD4870 1GB DDR5 | Corsair 800Mhz 2X2GB 5-5-5-18 | Seagate 500GB 7200.11 |Corsair TX 650W|

if you have anything that messes with your BIOS such as AIBooster or OC programs like it from ASUS then it might have messed up your BIOS... There are other ways to screw up your BIOS as well....

But here is a solution for you.

Unplug power to computer
Remove side panel
Take out the small battery in the mother board.

--------no required-------------
Only have 1 stick of RAM in (make sure its in the slot required for the motherboard which can be found in the manual), Motherboard, CPU, and graphics card installed. The rest are unnecessary and could make a BIOS reset complicated. (Not required but recommended)
--------------------------------
After around 15 minutes with battery out and unplugged.
Put battery back in and plug in computer
Start computer

At this point your bios chip should be reset and ready for use. However its best to do the first boot from fresh BIOS with as little hardware as possible.
