Vista can't copy or move files

Don't know when this started happening but all of a sudden I've found out I can't copy/paste files or even move them from one folder to another!! I can still delete them, however. But basically, whenever I put a file on my computer, whatever dir I put it into there's no moving it and I have no idea why!!!

I run AVG free and I'm not picking up a virus or any malware, seems like other people have had this problem but I have found no concrete answers ANYWHERE online as to the solution for this....anybody experience this problem?

I experienced the problem when I reformatted my hard drive with a fresh Vista installation and I was retrieving my files from my portable hard drive. They wouldn't transfer from the hard drive.

I don't remember if I had trouble moving the files around the computer's hard drive. It works fine now, though.

Maybe it was Windows Update....

Could've been, thanks for letting me know that other people have experienced this problem. I ended up formatting - probably could've tried a restore point or two, but my computer needed some deep cleaning by that time anyway, so a format was in order.
