Hello,

Two questions regarding copyright

1) I made a poll and a calendar program with php for my website and it is working pretty good for me so far. I decided also to offer them for sale. WHat are the important points to pay attention, as far as the copyright of the code? I know there is no foolprof way but what are common suggestions. When I sell the code, I will give all the php files to the buyer obviously, in order for it to work. I will write copyright my firm in the files of course, and a terms of service paragraph etc... but obviously that can be deleted in a second. Still, other than that, what else can I do? (other than taking the longest and most formal step of registering it with the copyright office)

2) When you write a blog entry or article, what proves that it is your original content, or what do you do for protecting it? Obviously for this you dont go to copyright office for each article everyday....

If you use Zend encoder to encode your script and sell the right to use the software, you will be on the right track.

You will notice that "ALL" vendors of software all sell the right to use the software. You as the end user do not own a bean, that nice Windows XP / Vista install you have paid for as part of the bundle, read the small print.

So take it as good advice that you are best selling use of the 'ware' and not the 'ware' itself.
