[RESOLVED] Executing a Command in Windows XP With cmd.exe

Okay. I've successfully locked myself out of my computer by making a mistake in a program. The software vendors gave me the commands to run in command.exe to fix it, but I've never run commands from that place. After you type the commands in, how do you execute them? I have tried pressing enter after everything is typed, but that doesn't work.

cmd.exe should open the DOS shell and you should see the dos prompt. From that type your commands and then hit return. If that's not working, you are really in trouble.

I just ended up having to reformat my computer. It was a pain in the neck, but I'm happier than I was being without one.
