Hey all;

I'm fairly new to web design, but have a fairly solid grasp on html & css and can create decent looking and functioning pages.

I am trying to do a jewelery catalog // store for a friend that would ideally be able to have them log in and upload new items into a category.

i am looking to create a designer profile with 3 catalog types and each catalog having a range of items for sale that would link to paypal. Still not sure how CMS's and php relate to what I know already about html / css and how to get them all to play nice but if there is a very simple cms you could recommend, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

First think of these factors.

Why spend the time trying to implement a CMS if you only have skills in HTML and CSS ?

Just edit and upload the files.

Do you understand Mysql ?

If these are still pointing you to a CMS I would use either Cushy CMS which is a web based CMS or ask some one to build you a CMS to be as easy as you need it.

Does this help ?

Hi,

I would suggest you to go with wordpress which provides many features and you can easily get the support for it as it is widely used CMS nowadays.

You can create categories for each type of jewelery and upload images of it too.
