Hi Frenz,

Prologue:
I use cPanel for managing my shared hosting. I don't have access to WHM.

Question:
As we know, In cPanel one particular domain is treated as a primary domain and others as addon domains. That primary domain's web root is "/public_html". We can add more domains and can choose any directory as their root. But don't seem to be able to change primary domain's web root.

I want to change the primary domain's web root. How can I perform that?

Thanks in advance.

You cannot change the primary domains root folder from the cpanel. You will need to consult your hosting provider to change the main domain name as you want.

Thanks a lot indeed. I've found that even cPanel guys agree this(above) as a shortcoming in their product. They will probably add this very essential feature in the future.
cPanel guys, u listening?? Please listen.

Hi,

Yes, cPanel team are looking into this feature and will be integrate it with next update. But I have doubt about the privileges to the end user - cPanel. For that you may have to ask your hosting service provider to complete your requirement.
