I mean webwiz forums are great. The beat the crud out of phpbb. The only problem I have w/ web wiz is that it uses access and access is not as fast or as reliable as a server data base. But web wiz has a sexy rich text box as aposed to something like this, you can actually see the smilie faces and all while you are typing. And to my knowledge php + apache is the best combination. needhelp357 11-13-2003, 08:37 PM ok, i will learn more about it. im trying to stick to mySQL and phpbb. thanks for the help, anymore would be appreciated spufi 11-14-2003, 11:08 AM I use Apache 2/PHP 4 on my Win2K Pro laptop and I'll be downloading MySQL at some point. I would do a search on MySQL toturials and I would check into picking up "MySQL Cookbook" (4.5 stars on Amazon) The Cookbook series are books that go through and handle finding solutions to practical real life situations. Just note they are not exactly books made for complete newbies on a subject, but for once you have gotten your feet wet. Use toturials on the net, or find a MySQL for beginners book for that kind of stuff. pyro 11-14-2003, 11:46 AM In my opinion, phpMyAdmin (http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/) is an absolutely essential addition to MySQL. It makes managing your databases incredibly easy. I'd highly recommend that that is the next thing you install. webdeveloper.com
