I just published a webpage and I have had some people say that the pictures on the page are not visible. When I bring up my page, they are visible. Did I do something wrong?

Jona 11-16-2003, 06:09 PM A link would be nice. ;) [J]ona t.dillon79 11-16-2003, 08:42 PM my web page is http://home.mchsi.com/~t.dillon79 Jona 11-16-2003, 09:22 PM The graphics are there, evidently. Not sure what the problem would be, as I don't see any problem. [J]ona t.dillon79 11-17-2003, 08:54 AM Thanks:) Pixelchik 11-17-2003, 11:44 AM I can see all the graphics as well, but I have a 56K dialup and a couple of the graphics did take a spell to finally load. Maybe that's the problem if your users have a slow dialup as well. That would be a definite possibility, as I'm on DSL so I wouldn't notice easily. [J]ona soccer362001 11-17-2003, 03:58 PM Worked fine for me iniquity101 11-18-2003, 02:20 PM on dsl (mines slow though) the pictures did take a second or two to load, and before they did the missing graphics symbol appeared. Aronya1 11-18-2003, 05:32 PM If connection speed isn't the problem, I'd consider creating that page with something other than Publisher. The code is incredibly bloated. The album page is 199k without images. Also, your images are apparently integrated into the background of the page, and not just displayed in the usual way. That might also be part of the problem. ApletFX 11-19-2003, 01:41 AM The big problem is that the page was created by microsoft publisher. Not the ideal web authoring tool. If you view the source it is loaded with tons of needless code for all the styles. Most PC users with the default settings in their browser of IE will see the content fine, however older browsers, and possiably even newer Netscape and Opera may have problems, Mac users will definatly suffer. I had a photo broken, but did not see a reason why??? I recomend importing your code into dreamweaver and preform the "clean-up microsoft tags" or "clean up word html" from the command menu. webdeveloper.com
