Domain pointing server

Hi,
I have a domain name registered with godaddy. Lets call it mydomain.com.

Now I have a shared server on 1&1. I stored all the content I made for mydomain.com in otherdomain.com/mydomain.

My question is how do i point mydomain.com to otherdomain.com/mydomain ?

To me it doesn't make sense that you JUST change the DNS, because i want to point to that specific directory.

Any thoughts?

You will have to write the rewrite code to redirect mydomain.com to otherdomain.com/mydomain.
