Am I right in thinking that most Americans these days probably have a larger monitor? My monitor's screen resolution/size is 1440 x 900, so my website looks fine on it. If I resize my browser window to 1024 x 768, you have to scroll a little to the right to see the whole page. Nothing terrible, just a little. I've just been wondering if I've got my head screwed on straight.

XGA and WXGA remain the most popular displays (desktop and laptop) 4:3 and 16:10 ratios in particular. Those are what are delivered standard on most systems and laptops. 1024 X 768 1280 X 800 are on top.

That helps me out, then. Thanks:)

And I can't realize the advantage of large monitors... I prefer notebooks with monitors of middle size - they are more convenient for me:)

I love large monitors, and have lots of little windows open in them. That's the second reason why you need to learn how to make your page work for any window size.

I know what you mean. My laptop monitor is 17". I love the fact that I have such a nice screen yet I still have the portability of a laptop.
