Hi,

I am developing four websites for a company. I have finished the basic design of the sites but I still have a lot of work to do on them. The links do not work on any of the sites other than the Winchester House one. This is because I am trying to finish the WH one first. Please take a look and leave me any comments about them and their design.

There may be some errors on the WH one because I am very much still building it.

The image on the first page will be a flash animation when I get round to building it.

They may take a while to load because I am running them off my network currently before they go live.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Beautiful and creative site. It's really taking a long time, though so I didn't look at the whole thing.

I do not have a very fast internet connection so running it off my server is not the best idea but it is only temporary. I am glad you like it, thank you for your views.

Looks nice and the navigation style works well for the design!
Noticed one thing on the Winchester House page - the page is coded utf-8 and that is what is detected by the browser... but the "quotes" and "apostrophes" are displaying as "" but will show correctly if you change to ISO character encoding.

Thank you, I know about the apostrophes and things, this is actually because I am having problems with one of my scripts currently. Those signs are the result because it is not compiling as I want it to. Hopefully I will manage to sort it out.

Out of interest how do I change character encoding, is it in the head of the html file? I only ask because I have never done it before. Do you know any links that would display the disadvantages and advantages of each type of encoding?

Thanks in advance

The advantage of utf-8 is that it is universal across all language characters.
The problem probably lies in the page with the text editor... it is probably ISO...
and/or the encoding of the database table... they should both be utf-8.
and yes, you change the character set in the head.

Very nice. I really like the menu a lot. Refreshing to see something different.
