Heavy Web 2.0 Designs looking cheesy ?

It seems like every time I follow a link that takes me to one of those cheap "buy stuff from me" sites (usually for software/electronics/games), they all seem to be using over the top web 2.0 designs.

In my head I am now starting to link "cheap and cheesy" = Web 2.0 Design.

I agree. I'm starting to avoid visiting WebCreme, DesignShack, and such because I'm sick of seeing the same gradient, rounded corners, big Verdana font, cartoon images web designs.
