What's your prediction for the Interwebs in 2020? You can make predictions on functionality, style, interface etc. Here's mine:
Access will be free for all. Everything will be touch screen. Cloud computing will dominate. Dell will be out of business, or bought out by Apple.
:D

Seriously, can anyone name one single thing that Nostradamus actually predicted that actually happened ... that was interpreted and pointed out BEFORE HAND? Everythigng we hear about has already happened and someone "finds" his prediction after the fact.
IMHO, internet will largely remain unchanged, it is a nice earner and theirs no incentive to give up that particular cash cow.
Computing on the move however will be on light weight thin clients that have amazing up time and the Internet as we know it will be wireless.
I think by 2020 we will have at the very least quad computing in the home an power CPUs running at ultra low voltages that would allow speeds that make the average home PC look like a games console.
Games will be all on-line based as the need to control copyright will be pushed to new limits, the wireless broadband will have huge capacity and your games console along with the toaster will be a device that you can get the FTSE or DOW and order that surfboard via the fridge and your TV remote will be a constant source of annoying pop up adverts in a 3d hologram format.
We will at the rate were going and the way in which corporations like google will have eradicated all forms of privacy and I also believe that adverts will be beamed directly in to our heads and you will have no freedom of choice.

toaster will be a device that you can get the FTSE or DOW and order that surfboard via the fridgeDespite technology's incredible advancements, the toaster has remained unchanged since the 50's.

And there will be no more PEOPLE - aren't you frightened by this fact? I have friends who are taking the Nostradamus predictions seriously, if only because of that stupid documentary done on the subject. The only way humanity will fade away is if enough stupid people make it a self fulfilling prophecy. The sun will rise just as it always has.

We'll have no more energy sources, the internet will be dead, and large animals will be slowly killing us off.
Start learning those survival skills now, kids ...

That is EXACTLY what I mean by self fulfilling prophecy. Oh ye of little faith.
I cannot continue this debate without getting political or very angry, so I'll just say you will be very disappointed come January 1, 2013.

* The web browser to be truly embraced as a run-time environment, further enabling rich internet applications. This is important to business/corporate.
* Super fast and lightweight rendering engines delivered to the web browser along with the site/application. No more having to deal with rendering differences across browsers/engines. You (the developer) choose which engine to use.
* Flash to become redundant due to Canvas.

our lives will depends more and more and more that we could ever imagine,
in the 1990 , if someone would have predicted that in 10~15 years, you can video conference someone in a different continent while you are driving your car, no one would have believed him
