My old website was very utilitarian. I decided to try to step out of the box a little. It's still in construction mode, but any comments would be appreciated.

The portfolio express isn't aligned underneath the main content, at least in FF3. I think it would look better centered underneath..but that's just me. J2NYC 10-05-2009, 10:14 PM Your right about the portfolio express. It's off just a bit even though it's "centered." I have to fiddle with the margins a little to get it perfect. The shadow on the main content is what's throwing it off. I will align it Thank you for your kind words. tracknut 10-05-2009, 10:35 PM Typo, or "grammar-o" here: J2 will work with you to insure that your website is the best it can be Unless you are buying insurance to guarantee the website is the best, you actually want "ensure" here. Dave J2NYC 10-05-2009, 11:44 PM Unless you are buying insurance to guarantee the website is the best, you actually want "ensure" here. Beg to differ http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ensure In this instance the two words are interchangeable J2NYC 10-06-2009, 11:05 AM I can be an idiot at times. My "portfolio express" is in a fixed position div. It looked nearly centered on both of my computers, but they're set to the same resolution. Some of you probably saw the thing way to the right or left. I fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out. 6StringGeek 10-06-2009, 11:30 AM I can be an idiot at times. Some of you probably saw the thing way to the right or left. I fixed it. Thanks for pointing that out. It is centered on my screen now, however, it's stuck at the bottom. When i scroll the top content scrolls and the portfolio express stays fixed with half of it pushed below the bottom of the screen and not visible... J2NYC 10-06-2009, 01:45 PM Thanks 6string. Fixed. 6StringGeek 10-06-2009, 01:59 PM Much better. Works for me now. J2NYC 10-06-2009, 02:29 PM I initially wanted the portfolio to be fixed for some reason, but I think that reason went away in some iteration of the site and I never changed it. Tell me, do you think I should put arrows indicating the portfolio scroll on the sides of the portfolio express or do you think folks will figure that out by themselves? I wanted it to look clean, but I don't want it to look so clean that no one can figure it out. 6StringGeek 10-06-2009, 02:32 PM ...do you think I should put arrows... I think most people are hover-ers...especially my mom LOL. I figured it out...but a nice arrow or < > wouldn't hurt. J2NYC 10-06-2009, 03:51 PM Thanks again. webdeveloper.com
