Hello,
I have site I recently re-designed for a client using Joomla. After the redesign, we also moved the site to GoDaddy Shared hosting with dedicated IP. The client pointed the A record to the site but kept hosting the email accounts elsewhere.
The client just called and reported spoofing, saying perhaps it is an open relay problem. They say in all the years of hosting the site elsewhere, spoofing was never an issue and as soon as it was redesigned/moved, it is. I'm not an expert when it comes to these types of issues.
I called GoDaddy and they said since they are not hosting the email accounts, this cannot be responsible for the problem. The recommend virus scan on the computers where emails are sent from, but this seems far from the problem to me.
I have contact forms on the site - could this be part of the problem?
I would really appreciate any help or a point in the right direction. I am feeling clueless.
