you can learn. just go to www.w3schools.com and learn up there. then go to www.bluerobot.com and hijack one of their layouts, and build yourself a page. try to customize the layout, and while doing that, you'll learn. then you'll be able to have a unique layout, and then make a website of your own with a purpose! then from their you can branch into server-side technologies should you wish to.

How many times have you viewed it? I've viewed it quite a few, as I get an email notification each time someone replies, and I tend to read all replies in threads that I've posted in. I've probably got between 15 and 20+ views... 35 votes in a poll is actually quite good.

Hehe, I got here a little late...yeah, I'm 14, but will be 15 in January which isn't TOO far away....seems like there are quite a few young webdevelopers out there...and a lot of them are better than some of the forum users that are in there 30's if I might say...I mean some of these younger people are answering questions to the older ones....I guess I am getting to old mentally...I mean I didn't have time to go to this thread till now...and I found out about it a while ago...hehe...well, glad that there are more younger ones out there.....

Wow....I can't believe that some of you are 14, 15, and 16! That is incredible. I am 29, and I can remember when I took "Typing" in High School, how high tech that was. I can't emagine what kind of tech stuff you will be into when your my age. Keep it up, you are the future ruler's of all.

uhm... it's still pretty hard for anyone under 16ish to get good at webdesign 100% on his own. with no help. cause first u gotta find peeps to help you, which is hard, and then you gotta find online ways of learning cause normally u cant go out and buy stuff for yourself... but once u get help it's easy.. just takes time is all. anyways, my cousin who is like 8 is good at hacking gameshark codes for the PS2.. which is binary.. and i am dumbfounded as to how he does it.. (mostly cause i never read into it. not enough interest really.)

Hey we have a condo in daytona, I was going to go there this weekend but decided against it. Orlando is only 30 min or so from daytona depending on traffic. Well...it really isn't THAT hard...just takes determined effort (which a lot of teenages need to learn anyways)....As to buying stuff....well, if you are over the age of 12 you should have been doing something physical so....money isn't too much of an issue...I mean books on Ebay are dirt-cheap....oh, in reply to the guy about typing...you waited too long to learn how to type...I learned at 10 and am really glad that I did...not very easy to "hunt-and-peck" when your designing a site or coding something....

Had to wait until 1991 when I at last got my first computer, a blazin' 286 with a whopping 40 MB RAM... then soon after picked up the graphically advanced Lotus Spreadsheet and WordPerfect (dangerously resembling DOS) and then my eyes finally opened with a 486 at the dawn of the Web mid-'90s and I said, "I gotta have a piece of that"...
The rest is history :D

That must've cost a couple grand for the memory alone... I've got a 286 system lying around that only has a 20MB harddrive...

Hehe, it's interesting to hear talk of the "good ol' days" of computers...now days, you got a fast computer, at a cheap price, And far less people that know how to use one well...uh, about living in the boonies....just ask me about living in the boonies...I live like WAY out in Virginia....and I work quite a bit with neighbors...plus my uncle does landscaping part-time, and I am his main helper...(pays well...ten dollars an hour....I think it's REALLY GOOD for a 14 year old).....so it's not IMPOSSIBLE to find something to do....for money that is...
