I need an MSIE 7 installer, the one I got from the M$ site refuses to install on XP version SP2 and refuses to install under WINE.

On my friends website, he has one batch of visitors that use MSIE7 only and the site does not render correctly in MSIE 7.

After spending 2 hours reading yesterday and discussing this issue with my friend, we have decided to stuff making a special work around CSS as theirs so few visitors using MSIE, the logs indicate that FireFox, MSIE6 and MSIE8 as well as Opera make up the majority of visitors with about 200 visits from MSIE7 users which compared to the 4,500 visits average a day for the site makes implementing a special CSS rule set for MSIE not an option IMO.

So I whipped up a nice little notice that is meant to only show for MSIE 7 users but so far all the people I have called up to see if the site is showing up the message for MSIE 7, I am finding that microsoft has been rapidly updating people to MSIE8 and this MSIE crew are obviously not updating.

So I need to test this and the problem I am having as explained is MSIE 7 downloaded I got from M$ is having none of it... Bloody thing won't install in a genuine XP install!!! WTF thats about?

So does anyone know where I can gram a genuine installer from, like I have looked on download.com but find nothing...

A little help plz...

Do you already have IE8? MS doesn't like people to be able to choose alternative versions for themselves. Usually once you upgrade you are stuck upgraded unless you format and start over.

to avoid the hassles of different IE versions, try using IETester (http://my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage)

I don't have MSIE at all, even on the winXP install I have and thats possibly why MSIE7 will not install as I removed IE on XP it along time ago. Personally I hate the bloody thing but now need to see if the script works.

I shall give IE Tester a whirl, see what happens.

THX, IE Tester works, partly under XP but does not under WINE, the main program body runs fine but nothing more, no browser space just an error.
