Hi! I'm having issues with posting to my FTP site. I've done lots of google-ing, but haven't found an answer yet.

The computer that's having the problem is a Mac OS 10.4.11 - the issue occurs with Dreamweaver Mx, Dreamweaver CS4 AND Fetch.

I have my ftp remote server set up (using passive ftp) in Dreamweaver, and when I click 'test' it successfully connects to the server. But when I try to post something, it starts out fine, then I get 'waiting for server', and eventually it times out without finishing the post.

The same thing happens with Fetch - it will start an upload, and then freeze and time out.

I know it's not a server issue, because I have another computer on the same network (running OS 10.3.9 and Dreamweaver MX) that works great. When I post something it stays connected and uploads everything in one shot.

The settings are exactly the same on both computers - the only thing I can think of is that this is an ftp issue with the OS. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm not sure about your particular application but try looking for a "passive mode" option and turn it OFF

Thanks for the response.

I tried posting with 'passive' off and on - doesn't resolve the issue.

We upgraded some of our boxes to 10.5.8 and the FTP is now working great on those - but the boxes with 10.4.11 are still having FTP problems with all FTP programs.

Is this a preference setting in the OS that's causing the problems? It seems to definitely be an OS 10.4.11 issue. Does anyone have any more ideas?

Thanks!
