How do you edit Blog Date?

There is this site:

They have the date post like this:

Month
Date
Year.

I'm using typepad (advanced template-editable source) and wondering how to edit this. The way they have their post date is xx/xx/xxxx...which I think most blog sites have it as...Can this be editable?

Also how can you add recent post like they do on the right? a widget?

You will have to edit the theme and can set the date format as per your requirement. Also kindly refer to below URL through which you can get the idea of changing date format:

Moreover, to get the recent post on the side bar, you can add it through widget.
