[RESOLVED] Visual Studio Academic Edition?

What's the difference in Visual Studio Pro 2008 and Visual Studio Pro 2008 Academic? I've noticed the full versions of Academic Edition are a lot more reasonably priced on ebay than the full versions of standard Pro 2008. It's making me wonder why anyone would spend the extra cash.

I'm not sure that there is a difference. Only in price. But there are requirements for the academic version. Not just anyone can get it. You have to provide like a school ID or some proof that you are in fact a "student, teacher or school". At least, that has been my experience when trying to purchase it through legit channels.

The Academic version can not be updated. You would have to buy a new Academic package every time a new version becomes available.
