Animated Graphics?

I am new to DHTML and I am confused about the way the graphics work.

I am trying to get a graphic image to move from the upper right corner of the screen to the middle of the screen when the page opens. My problem is that it appears to move too fast. Either that or it is starting in the end position.

Is there a way to control the speed?

hmmm.... The book I have doesn't mention anything about setting time intervals. I must not have a very good book.
