I'm hoping to become a freelance web designer.
I'm currently learning Photoshop (vocationally and online) also Dreamweaver, Dreamweaver+ CSS and CSS for designers etc.
Also which are the best methods to get noticed, I guess a website and portfolio are a start?
Thanks
Mike

Use a text editor, not Dreamweaver.
Learn HTML and CSS.

That would be a good start.

thanks for the reply, got to admit it would be a lot nicer to code everything yourself so you know exactly what's going on!

You might want to learn a bit of flash and photoshop or any good image editor as well.

Notepad++ for coding (just about anything, PHP, Perl, HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc). Just starting out, you need HTML and CSS. Javascript comes next, and then on to server side languages (like PHP).
Photoshop for graphic design.
