Hello. I am redesigning a web site of mine and I am trying to get into the habit of using Photoshop to use graphics, instead of Xara or other simple ones. I cannot figure out how to make a simple, "techie" looking bar or line in Photoshop. For example, on my old site (www.eddiea.cjb.net) my logo has some cool looking bars extending from the circle logo, down to the menu, and also to the banner logo. Could someone demonstrate to me how this is done in Photoshop? I am trying to get the same effect as the old logo, but I am redesigning them so I just need to know how to do this one part. You may want to take a look at my old site listed above to see what kind of bars I am talking about. Also, I am very very new to Photoshop, so if anyone could explain it to me at my level, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks very much!!! :D :D :D

Firstly, graphics like this are easier to do in Illustrator. You could just make shapes with a stoke and lay them over eachother.

What version of photoshop are you usiing? if your using an older version, I may need to jog my memory to recomend a good work flow.

With photo shop, you could make a marque selection, squares or circles, then stroke it with the color of your choice.

For the blend effect, you could play with stroking a circular maque slection, then filling it with gradients. You can use the grdient tool to adjust gradients.

Let me know if any of this helps.
